Pediatrica After-Hours connects registered Pediatrica families with an on-call clinician by secure video, evenings and weekends after offices close right through until midnight during the week and 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekends. So you can set your worry aside, skip the urgent care waiting room, and get answers from a team that already knows your child.

Everything you need to know about Pediatrica After-Hours care.
Pediatrica After-Hours is available to all patient families currently registered at a Pediatrica practice in Florida. A parent or legal guardian must be present for any visit involving a child under 18. Grandparents, siblings, or other caregivers without legal authority cannot authorize a visit.
You’ll need to be a registered Pediatrica patient to access After-Hours care. If you’re not yet a patient, we can help you book an appointment to get established — often as early as the next day.
Our After-Hours team is bilingual and speaks English and Spanish fluently. You’re always welcome to have a trusted friend or family member join to help with communication in any other language.
After-Hours care supports families after regular business hours with medical concerns that come up unexpectedly, such as fever, sore throat, or vomiting — helping you avoid unnecessary, lengthy, and costly trips to urgent care or the emergency room while keeping your child’s care consistent.
After-Hours care cannot replace urgent care for issues like severe allergic reactions, possible broken bones, or situations that require a physical exam or immediate intervention. In these cases, please go to an urgent care location or call emergency services without delay.
Most families connect with an on-call clinician within 15 to 30 minutes. Wait times may run longer during high-volume periods, like cold and flu season. You’ll get a text notification when your clinician is ready.
After-Hours care is provided by Pediatrica clinicians dedicated to on-call visits, so your regular care team stays available for scheduled, in-office care like well-visits and immunizations. Every After-Hours provider has full access to your child’s medical records and history, ensuring consistent, safe care and easy follow-up with your regular care team.
Help your child feel as comfortable as possible before the call – we count on parents and caregivers to be our assistants during the visit. If you can, set up in a quiet space with good lighting, and have a list ready of current medications, known allergies, and any questions for the clinician.
Yes. After-Hours clinicians follow the same protocols and procedures as our regular Pediatrica primary care team and can issue prescriptions when warranted. If a referral is needed, they’ll notify your child’s regular clinician for follow-up.
Most insurance plans, including Medicaid, cover telehealth visits at the same rate as in-office visits. Your copay or cost-share may vary by plan. We’ll verify your coverage before the visit and let you know of any expected out-of-pocket costs.
Just as with in-office visits during regular business hours, a self-pay rate applies. The self-pay rate for each After-Hours visit is $60.
Just a quiet, comfortable space and a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera, microphone, and stable internet connection. No special software download is required — you’ll receive a secure link by text or email to join.
Yes. All video visits run on a HIPAA-compliant platform and are never recorded. Your child’s health information is protected under federal privacy law (HIPAA) and won’t be shared without your consent, except as required for treatment or by law.
If your video connection drops, your provider will try to reach you by phone at the number on file. If you’re having trouble joining, call our virtual front desk team for help at
