Carlos Rodriguez, APRN

Carlos brings a unique and extensive background in medicine and nursing spanning nearly four decades.

Carlos began his medical career in Havana, Cuba, where he earned his medical degree in 1988. He went on to complete specialized training in neurology in 1996, with a focus on pediatric neurology, and practiced in that field until 2005, when he relocated to the United States.

After relocating, Carlos pursued a new path in nursing, earning his RN in 2016 while working in the Pediatric ICU at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital. He went on to complete his APRN degree in 2019 and has since dedicated his practice to the care of pediatric patients.

Carlos has a deep passion for pediatrics, drawn to the opportunity to support children and families through every stage of growth and development. He believes in building trusted relationships with his young patients and their families, combining clinical expertise with warmth and patience to make every visit a positive experience. Through telehealth, he is committed to making high-quality, compassionate pediatric care more accessible to families wherever they are.

Sandra Herrera, APRN

Sandra loves caring for children because no two days are ever the same. She finds joy in helping kids grow, stay healthy, and reach every important milestone along the way — and considers the relationships she builds with children and their families the most rewarding part of her career. Her approach combines evidence-based care with genuine warmth, so every family feels heard and supported.

Sandra earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Florida International University. She has spent her life in South Florida and is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing her to connect comfortably with a wide range of families in the community.

Outside the office, Sandra is happiest exploring. She’s passionate about travel, meeting people from around the world, and learning about new cultures – she believes it’s one of the best ways to grow. Whether she’s discovering a hidden gem in a new city, spending a day at the beach, or trying a new dish, she’s always chasing her next adventure. Most of all, she treasures the time she spends making memories with her son.

Mirna PayanGarcia is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based care to infants, children, and adolescents. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nova Southeastern University and her Master of Science in Nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Florida International University. Mirna is nationally board-certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Originally born in Cuba, Mirna is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, allowing her to build strong connections with families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Mirna‘s passion for pediatrics was inspired by the birth of her daughter, who was born with gastroschisis. Witnessing the compassionate care her daughter received motivated Mirna to pursue a career dedicated to helping children and supporting families through every stage of their healthcare journey.
Throughout her career, Mirna has been committed to delivering family-centered care while fostering trusting relationships with patient families. She believes every child deserves exceptional medical care, empathy, and an advocate who listens. She is passionate about preventive healthcare, patient education, and helping children achieve their healthiest potential.
